Advanced Cytometry
Instrumentation Systems (ACIS) was established in 2001, following more than one
year of careful planning and market research.
Flow cytometry is an extremely versatile technique that is and will continue
to play a role in biotechnology. The technique analyzes the specific molecular
composition of cells (one cell at a time) and can be used clinically, in the
research laboratory and beyond. ACIS
was formed from the collaboration of three parties: two renown researchers in
flow cytometry and biophotonics and a company with expertise in lasers and
optics. This well-balanced team is poised to take advantage of the most recent
developments in components and developed (over several years) proprietary and
patent-pending innovations in flow cytometry instrumentation to increase
performance and to reduce the size and costs. ACIS is committed to delivering
high performance flow cytometers and related products to its customers that are
expandable, upgradable, and cost effective.
ACIS is located in the
Baird Research Park in Amherst, NY. The building was
designed and constructed to house companies developing advanced technical
products. ACIS’ facilities are augmented by those of Laser Photonics Technology
which affords ACIS staff with access to an abundance of advanced optical and
fabrication equipment. ACIS is also
in close proximity to the State University of New York at
Buffalo and Roswell Park
Cancer Institute where ACIS has substantial collaborations.
